Waxing in Kenley — FAQs
Does waxing hurt?
Warm wax is far less painful than strip wax, especially on sensitive areas. First-timers are usually surprised how quick and easy it is.
How far is the salon from Kenley?
About 8.5 miles — about 35 minutes by car. We are on Devonshire Road in Forest Hill, SE23, a few minutes' walk from Forest Hill station, which has direct trains from Kenley. Appointments are by booking only, so there is never a wait when you arrive.
How long should the hair be?
About a quarter of an inch — roughly two weeks of growth. Too short and the wax cannot grip it.
Do you do home visits in Kenley?
Yes, for many of our treatments — spray tanning, massage, waxing, lashes, manicures and pedicures and more. Travel to Kenley is £20. Treatments that need the salon environment, such as microneedling, peels and injections, are salon-only.
How long does waxing last?
Three to six weeks, and the hair comes back finer and sparser with regular waxing.
Do you cover all of CR8?
Yes — every part of CR8, and the neighbouring areas of Purley, Sanderstead, Coulsdon and Selsdon. For home visits the travel fee is the same across the whole area.
Do you offer men's waxing?
Yes — back, chest, shoulders, arms, legs and more. Appointments are private and professional.
How do I book from Kenley?
Book online at any time through our booking page, or call 07803 285619. Evening appointments are available most weekdays and we open on Sundays. Out-of-hours and festive-season bookings carry a small surcharge.
Can I have waxing while pregnant?
Yes, though your skin may be more sensitive. Let us know when you book.
Do I need a patch test?
For lash extensions, tints, peels, BB Glow and a few other treatments, yes — at least 24 hours before your first appointment. Patch tests are free at the salon, and we can post a kit to Kenley if that is easier.
