What is it?

Science-backed
skin renewal

Microneedling, also known as dermarolling, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. Its aim is to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture and promote overall skin rejuvenation, addressing concerns including fine lines, wrinkles, scars and uneven skin tone.

Our microneedling treatments utilise the premium Derma 2.0 medical-grade range to deliver targeted results. By creating controlled micro-channels in the skin, we infuse specialised Italian-made serums — ranging from lifting peptides to pure hyaluronic acid — directly into the dermis. This “collagen induction therapy” triggers the skin’s natural healing response while delivering potent active ingredients where they are needed most.

It is a versatile solution for various skin types and concerns, ideal for anyone seeking to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines and enhance collagen production — and best suited to those with acne scars, uneven skin tone or signs of ageing. At Milliner & Joseph, every treatment is performed by Tashia, a qualified aesthetics practitioner with Salon Gold insurance, and we tailor the depth, technique, serum choice and aftercare protocol to your specific skin goals.

Common Questions

Everything you
need to know

We want you to feel confident and informed before your appointment. Here are the questions we hear most often.

Still have questions? Call Tashia directly or send a message — we’re always happy to chat through your concerns.

The Moisture Surge for dehydration, The Lip Lush for dry lips, The Eye Revive for dark circles and puffiness, The Brightening Correction for pigmentation, The Skin Resurface for scars and stretch marks, The Contour for laxity, The Time Reverse for deep wrinkles, The Non-Tox Lift as a Botox alternative, and The Body Sculpt for cellulite. Tashia will recommend the right serum at consultation.

Derma 2.0 is a premium medical-grade range of Italian-made serums. During microneedling, the controlled micro-channels let these serums — from lifting peptides to pure hyaluronic acid — reach the dermis, where they work far more effectively than anything applied to the surface.

With the numbing cream applied beforehand, most clients experience little more than a mild scratching sensation. Sensitive areas like the forehead and nose may feel slightly more noticeable. The vast majority describe it as very tolerable.

For general skin rejuvenation, a course of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended. For deeper concerns like acne scarring or stretch marks, up to 6 sessions may be advised. Tashia will give you a personalised recommendation at consultation.

You’ll notice an initial glow within 24–48 hours once redness subsides. The deeper collagen-building results develop over 4–6 weeks following each session, progressively improving with every treatment in your course.

Microneedling is suitable for all skin tones including darker complexions (Fitzpatrick IV–VI), unlike laser treatments. It is not recommended if you have active acne, eczema or rosacea in the treatment zone, are on blood-thinning medication, or are pregnant. Tashia will screen for contraindications at consultation.

We advise avoiding all makeup for a minimum of 24 hours post-treatment — ideally 48 hours. The micro-channels close quickly, but allowing them to fully close before applying makeup reduces the risk of irritation or infection.
